Ennaytch - Vacuum Cleaner Music For The For The Unsatisfied H [Basement Corner Emission - 2022]Here we have a just shy of hour-long 'wall' from this Tucson, Arizona. It’s a dense, and busy affair with some nicely rewarding textural detail to be found within the thick weaves of noise. Piles And Piles Of Dead Creeps is the third in the series of Vacuum Cleaner Music For The Unsatisfied Housewife releases- and for this chapter, we find ‘the newly freed housewife protagonist goes out into the world to party. Her good times are cut short by getting hit on endlessly by creepy dudes, who she dispatches appropriately’. Artwork wise we have what looks like a grim fantasy illustration of a crowed figure in front of a pile of skulls & bodies, with big red eyes and a mouth on top of the figure's head. This digital release, like all the others in the series, was released by Portland Oregon-based Basement Corner Emissions, and can be found here.
I checked out the last vol of this series not too long back, and enjoyed what I heard- so hence I thought I’d check this out, and I must say it’s an even more entrancing example of the form- with this being down to the well-tooled textural elements at play here, and the even mix
The single track comes in at the 59.50 mark. The ‘wall’ is a decidedly layer-dense affair- with it consisting of the following elements- a loose mid-range clutter, a descending steam-like hiss ‘n’ swirl, a selection of thin grain hacking patterns, and maybe one or two circling static swarms. With possibly in the last twenty minutes or so this knock-wood-like tone appearing, then disappearing in the mesh of sound. Together these elements create a rich map of detail, with one's mind following first one layer, then the next over the track's runtime. Imagery wise I’m getting a feeling of walking through a thick and haze-heavy jungle- but the whole thing is slightly pixelated, and ever so often odd glitches flicker before your eyes. The ‘wall’ kept me well & truly held throughout, with the whole thing being very nicely balanced and mixed so you can detect every detail clearly.
Ennaytch is a relatively new project within the wall scene, having around ten or so release its name. So, it’s great to see it putting out releases of this quality early on in its career- so let us hope it hangs around, and I’m most certainly like to hear another chapter in this series and/or other new material.
