Aberdeen Abattoir - Caro Nihil Momenti Est [Outsider Industries - 2026]Caro Nihil Momenti Est is a thirty-minute slab of crude and morally corrupted walled noise from this rather mysterious US-based project, which recently surfaced like a bloated corpse in water on the scene. This is a digital-only release on Arizona’s Outsider Industries. For cover art we get a contrast heavy/ difficult to see the details picture of a cut-open torso- I’m not sure if this is a crime scene or autopsy photo. The release can be found here.
The single/self-titled track features a blend of uneven/ wonky low-end juddering and never-jittering static jump/ buck. Together, these elements create a feeling of taut tension and morbid unease. And I’m really getting images of walking through some sketchy/half-lit building, where off in the distance it sounds like a half-alive body has been both sawn into & steadily flayed at the same time. As the track progresses, I’m sure I can out moments of stand-alone/thinner scratch ‘n’ drag- but this may be a trick of the wall.
Caro Nihil Momenti Est is another consistent and crudely engaging example of wall craft from Aberdeen Abattoir. Roger Batty
