The C62 offers up two side long & untitled tracks that hit around or just short of the thirty one minute mark apices. The first sides track starts out with this rather eerier & creepy recording of an evening forest & it’s bird song, by the minute mark this field recording is been attacked by this on/ off judder of throbbing and sinister noise matter. And by the second minute the sound of trickling liquid has been added to the mix- this gets more noisily morphed as the track nears it’s forth minute then it explodes into brutal yet brooding mix of throbbing & lo-fi bass noise grinding. As the track progressers from time to time you can still make out the bastardised field recordings, but as the track goes on the sonic picture & wall of sound get more pressing and intense.  By the twelve minute the track switches into this great rapid helicopter blade meets meaty juddering wall of sound, and I guess you’d say we’re in all out HNW territory now. The rest of the track really stays in a juddering, chop & rapidly slicing lo-fi and crusty HNW vibe. It’s a great first side of tape, & really it does bring to mind a slowly and bloody human Sacrifice taking place in a secluded wooden area- with the first quarter of the track been about the sacrifices preparation & the last three thirds been about slow brutal & agonising torture & finally death of the victim.

Side twos track jumps straight in with the brutality with a crusty juddering meets overloaded helicopter wall of noise. As we near the second minute mark the forest field recording elements return once again, but they are now fed through this huge helicopter hovering texture & at times you can just make out the eerier early evening bird song textures.  As the track goes on the hovering helicopter texture gets more crusty & intense, with roaring judders appearing here & there in the tracks wall, though you can still just make out the edge of the field recordings.  By the tracks mid-way point these descending & noise ripped modified water textures are added to the mix, and these nicely flicking out of the wall in a highly caustic manner ever so often. By the twenty firth minute mark the walls built up to a bass like grinding barbaric wall of tone which feels like your been force under the huge roaring and battering brushers of a road sweeper. The last few minutes of the track see the pair drop down to a eerier tolling bell element and dawn woodland sounds as if the bloody mass sacrifice is finally at an end.

With out doubt “Blood Sacriifice”  is one of my favourite Peiiste(or Peiste) releases thus far. I really like the way the pair mix & brutalize the field recording elements into their noise matter which gives the whole thing quite a earthy and violent pagan feel.
