Creepy Images Volumes 4-6 - Creepy Images Volumes 4-6( Book) [Creepy Images - 2025]

Creepy Images is a long-out-of-print collectable magazine that began life in 2009. In order to make these collector's items available again, Creepy Images have reissued the first three issues in an anthology, this is the follow-up to that original collection featuring issues 4-6. As well as providing the original text in English (as with the original releases) they have included a German translation for the first time too.

Since the magazine’s conception, Creepy Images has been dedicated to reprinting advertising materials from classic horror and exploitation movies from the 1950s to the 1980s. They provide the opportunity to see and own duplicates of extremely difficult-to-obtain lobby cards and posters from some of the most obscure movies of the era.

Looking through this two hundred and twenty one page book, we have articles on some of the world’s best cult horror and exploitation movies. Issue 4 starts with an article on Lucio Fulci’s City of the Living Dead and several pages of high-quality reproductions of lobby cards, this is followed by an article and images from Joe D’Amato’s Buio Omega, before we get to Giallo By Design, an article looking at some of the most amazing posters associated with the Italian Giallo movie scene. Images include the films of Dario Argento, Mario Bava, Umberto Lenzi and Sergio Martino, among others. The article is quite an interesting read with some classic images that highlight some of the genre’s finest movies. There are also articles and stunning images from Vampyres, the 1975 Jose Larraz lesbian vampire movie, Armando De Ossorio’s Tombs of the Blind Dead and Hammer’s classic, Plague of the Zombies. Issue 5 keeps the quality high, featuring more articles and gorgeous colour reproductions of posters and lobby cards from Jean Rollin’s The Grapes of Death, George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, Armando De Ossorio’s Ghost Galleon and a personal favourite of mine, Sergio Martino’s outstanding All the Colours of the Dark. Issue 6 keeps the goods a coming, Mario Bava’s Bloodbath, Antonio Margheriti’s Cannibal Apocalypse, Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals and Lucio Fulci’s sleezefest, New York Ripper all feature alongside Sergio Martino’s The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh and De Ossorio’s Night of the Seagulls

Overall, this is a cracking collection, featuring some of the finest films of the golden age of horror and exploitation cinema. The images are excellent, and the colours really pop. The team at Creepy Images have done a really good job of sourcing high-quality images of some of these extremely rare and collectable posters and lobby cards. As a fan of most of the movies featured here, I found this to be an excellent book with some interesting articles and some mind-blowing images. If you’re a fan of cult horror and exploitation cinema, there is a lot here for you to love. In fact, there is probably a lot to recommend this to anyone who has a love of Euro horror.
