Ecoute La Merde - Oralist [anarchofreaksproduction - 2010] | Ecoute La Merde is a Harsh noise/HNW project from the east of France, and “Oralist” is a 3inch cdr that offers up a single near on fifteen minute slice of active and brutal Harsh walled noise. The track starts out with a few seconds of vinyl or old tape like crackle then it dive's head first into a descending roar of noise that’s soon played over by this consistent crackling vinyl like static texturing. As the track moves into its third minute the initial descending roar becomes more of a battering storm type roar 'n' rage as the consistent static texturing seems to get thicker and more raging. By the five minute mark the ‘wall’ has got even more enraged and ripping in it’s noise storm like feel, with the static texturing become more controlled & uniformed. The track stays on a fairly battering and storming riping similar path until around the ten minute mark when it switchers to a more raging juddering type texture that has jittering static sliding up and down it. Around the twelve minute we have theses great juddering ‘n’ crashing mass of school chairs like texturing firing through the main lower judder which seems have become more rapid and enraged, the track plays out like Ìcoute La Merde equipment is suddenly packing-up with this descend and failing judder. And just in the tracks last few seconds we have a slightly creepy sample of a women reading a small snippet from a children’s story. I’ll have to admit in the past the small amount of material I’d heard from this project rather underwhelmed me, but I must say I’m quite taken by the active, intense and often brutally atmospheric feel of “Oralist”- so if you enjoy your walled noise rather active and just on the edge of being Harsh noise with wallish dwells this is well worth checking out.
