Churner - Medicated [Void Seance - 2011]'Medicated' takes a shifting approach to wall making with long lasting textures executed in single dynamic shifts, and mostly exists in blasting static form spread out over the course of forty three minutes. The context explores thick grainy textures enhanced by heavy rumbling which played at the proper volume project fullness and a heavy presence of darkened tones. The disc initiates in a manner that makes each shift appear to be topping the other like laying down heavy static bricks getting more intense until reaching a steady pace that the track maintains for the remainder of the session. Seemingly in the earliest moments of this wall only there is a high pitched sound that could be described as a distorted whisper, but could also just be a high pitched instance of pure white noise. This detail definitely adds a stand out quality to the beginning and overall effect of the track which ultimately is very gloomy like the kind of thing you'd listen to in a dark room with your head down. Packaging is in the signature Void Séance method using sticker labels of Xerox artwork on gatefold sleeves with a cd tray and insert. Not much information on the theme or why the release would be titled medicated, but the wall and esthetic quality of the packaging is more than enough to enjoy this release. Definitely another quality release from this label and a gem in Churner's discography as well.
