This is an enjoyable,varied and often tension filled and quite experimental soundtrack for this 1971 Giallo film  which is thought of as one of directors Toino Ricci best films.

It all starts off fairly flighty & twee easy listening before quickly folding into dark and tension filled cinematics going from; sinister string lined music boxes unfolds, to macabre almost discordant & swirl string dwells lined with tension filled percussion, to doomy brass hovers and bows played & twisted over by nerve harpsichord and percussion sneaks, to bass led dread down-step's  alive with panicked female harmonies and vibes/ xylophone runs. Really most of it's running time is spent creating tension filled moments with often a great gothic horror feel and experimental edger’s. With the odd trip back into easy listening floweriness and one track of organ pumping and 70 rock groove. It features the 13 tracks from its original soundtrack release along with  another 14 bonus tracks previously unreleased- all clock up to over 50 minutes of music.

As usual with fin de siecle media reissues this is wonderfully presented with a striking Blood red and white cover artwork, inside the digipak we have stills from the film and a write up about the film, director and composer. All in all another great reissue of a lost classic 70’s soundtrack.
