Shumoizolyatsiya - The Process Of Inevitable Decomposition [Self release - 2021] here." /> |
From July this year, The Process Of Inevitable Decomposition is fifty-two minute example of tightly rattling ‘n’ bass grinding ribbed walled noise from Russian project Шумоизоляция/ Shumoizolyatsiya . It’s a self-released digital download, and if you fancy checking it out it can be found here. The release cover artwork is a fairly simplistic, murky, yet moody blend of grimy paint wash tones, which are overlaid by the projects Russian text like logo. I guess it’s not got a lot to do with the tracks title or decomposition theme- but it’s ok I guess.
The single self-titled track rolls in at the 52.16-minute mark. It’s built around a rumbling bass grind, which features a rapidly rattling crust of static jitter. The bass texture is nicely tense and narrowly flicker, while the jitter has a weathered quality with some rewarding subtle-yet-gritty pops ‘n’ snaps coming off of it. As the track progresses one feels the sensation of slowing/ thickening- but I think the reality of it is that this ‘wall’ is very much firm and fixed in its unfold. I guess if you are going from the title of the release, you do get an almost time-lapse quality to the ‘wall’- so of course, this could bring to mind imagery of something huge and darkly meaty, slowly caving in on itself.
The Process Of Inevitable Decomposition is a nicely nasty slice of bone grind walled-noise. Sure, it doesn’t offer up the most unusual or distinctive textures, and neither does it surprise with its layer dexterity- but if your after relentless-yet-rewarding fifty plus minutes sonic crushing, this fit’s the bill.
