Placebo (პლაცებო) is a two-track album from  Mtskheta, Georgia‘s Owners Of Knowledge, who create a distinctive blend of walled noise, dense ambience, and field recordings. 

This is digital only release put out UK’s HNW netlabel. The cover art takes in an abstract rip/ torn landscape of black, white, and grey tones. The release can be found here. 

Both of the tracks run at dead on the twenty-five-minute mark. First up, we have აჩქარებული (Accelerated). This is rather ambient- yet- still wallish mix of distant baying rolling, faint crowd chatter, and this constant shovelling texture.  Together, these elements create a hazed, dream-like quality, where you can rewardingly go from focusing on one element after another, or enjoy them together in a nicely mellow/ yet disorientating manner.

The second track here is ნახევრად დახურული  (Half-Closed). Here we find an extreme slurred/ damaged bass judder-come-purr, a distant churning post-industrial, and these lightly cluttering/spinning subtones. With latter creepily warbling tones coming into play. The ‘wall’ has a decidedly eerie, and (largely) organically uneasy feel to its unfold.  

Placebo is another worthy release from Owners Of Knowledge, who most certainly have a knack for creating great work in the moodier/ more atmospheric side of wall-craft.
