The Crude - Cat Noise Wall [HNW Netlabel - 2026]From Turkey’s The Crude, here’s a just over twenty-minute example of walled noise focused on furry felines. The ‘wall’ is a rumble ‘n’ roll-based affair, which does offer up quite a comfortable and calming vibe. This, I guess you’d call EP, is a digital release on the UK’s HNW netlabel. The cover artwork features a cartoon art-like picture of a white cat. The release can be found here.
The ‘wall’ rolls in at twenty minutes and fifteen seconds. It’s a set/ constant blend of rapid tumbling rumble and slightly static grained rolling. Together, these create a sort of close-up purring quality- which is, of course, perfect for the release's theme. This is far from an original/ or that distinctive example of the genre- but if you're looking for a more soothing/ relaxing twenty mins of ‘wall’, this is fine.
Seemingly, The Crude is a relatively new project, so I’ll be interested to see how it develops, though there is certainly some promise here, and the cat theme is fairly original, as I can’t recall anyone else using this as a theme for walling. Roger Batty
