Ouroborean Piss - Dawn Of Toillet [Enforced Existence - 2021]

Dawn Of Toilet sees this US project offering up another selection of repetitive and noise-up percussive workouts. The C24 takes in a track per side, and basically both follower a similar path- we find rapidly stop/ start drums, which are noise fuzzed-hissed and these are muffled-monotonal ranted male vocals. It’s certainly in the right type of mood release, but if your after relentless battering-meets-seared reputation this will certainly scratch that itch.

The red shelled tape features white and black text labels on both sides- this is presented in a red and black inked sleeve, this features on its a naked goat-man figure, and minimal texts on the spine/ back sleeve.  This release came in an edition of fifty copies, and as of this review, there are still copies left for purchase.

So first-up one side A we have “part one”- and here we find a mixture of rapid battering stop-start cymbal work, blunt and muddy drum battering, and monotonal ranted phrases/ words- which you can barely make, so as a result, these become just another texture. The cymbal work is hissed and stark in its attack, while the drum work is noisily choppy and muddily in its largely  blunt battering- with the vocals coming off like bluntly spat, with an almost tape stretched and lightly noise glitched quality about them. For the track full runtime, the elements lock into a simple and fixed path, sure at points, more noise ripped sub-tones appear- but the main/lead focus here is continually battered stop-start attack.

Flipping over to side B and we of course have “Part two”. Here we once again find a blend of rapidly hit cymbal work, battering drums, and monotone-yet-slightly more empowered-though- still ill-defined vocals. The cymbals once again are very hissing/ flat in its constantly crash and hit, the drums have slightly more depth/ variations- with some shift tom hits, and the vocals/ shouted voices seems to mention a series of lines, instead of just single words.  This track feels somewhat more angered- though of course, it’s still extremely unrelenting in its attack.

So this is my second taster of  Ourobrean Piss work- and the project  is certainly carving out its own particular sound, which is focused battering/ unrelenting yet subtle seared….as I mentioned in my intro, it’s certainly  not for everyone…to find out if it is for you drop by here
