I first became aware of Mr. Screamerclauz's distinctive form of visual & sonic derangement with the release of his second film 2016 When Black Birds Fly- which was like Alice In Wonderland lived through the mind of a sexual deranged mad man on acid. It’s fair to say that both his style of animation, his no-bars held/ all taboos broken storylines, and seriously demented creations are wholly distinctive & originally nightmarish. He uses animation to push things to their extreme, as really the stuff you see in his work would be firstly not allowed/ banned outright by any censor if it was in a live-action film, and secondly, actors wouldn’t/ couldn’t do the things that happen in his work.
 
The plot of  The Scuzzies is typically unhinged/off the wall- we are introduced to a one-legged man, who spends his days wearing a ropy blue bikini sitting in his squalid apartment. In the connor of the apartment is a Childs cot that features a mobile made from severed & skin stripped human hands, body parts & flies- inside the cot is seemingly just bones & lumps of human bodies. The man is obsessed with watching demented kids TV, and a product called Soapy Discharge- and whenever the advert appears on TV for the production he gets aroused. Into this comes two small humoind creatures The Scuzzies. They live under the skirting board of the man's apartment, and are  a sort of lumbering, blobs of rot & grimy flotsam & Jetsam- with twitting voices( performed by cumblood from underground & gory bound Australian Hip-hop collective Butchers Harem). The man accidental kills two of the Scuzzies, so they decide to take revenge in a truly deranged, fuck-up, and psychedelic sickening way.
 
Each time Jimmy does something new he updates, polishes, and improves his take on animation- and with The Scuzzies he does it once again. Bringing together the detailed depravity of the mans apartment floor, his gaunt & sickly frame, and of course the goo, spurting, melting psychedelic gore & hellish forms.
 
All told it’s great to have a new slice of distinctively deranged film work from Mr. ScreamerClauz- and even though The Scuzzies is a short it certainly does deepen & intensifies his themes nicely- simply put if you want to see something truly unhinged, unwell and shocking I’d advise picking this up!.
