Necrotik Fissure - Centralian Fume [Void Singularity Recordings - 2018]Centralian Fume is a truly intense, lengthy & unrelenting journey into walled noise brain-battering from this Hungary based project. With the release either coming as a CDR or digital down- and it offers up a single slab of seventy-two-minute wall-matter. Originally formed in 2012, then going-on-hiatus for four years Necrotik Fissure, are fast becoming one of the scenes most prolific acts- in 2018 thus far the projects put out four CDR box sets- three of these sets offered up three to six discs a piece, but one offered up a truly whopping twenty-four discs. So clearly this project is literal living & breathing HNW.
The CDR version of this release comes in a Jewel case, featuring simplistic, but effective enough monochrome artwork- on the front we have a rather bleak aerial shot of a landscape, and the back/ spine white texts against a plain black background. The release came in an edition of ten copies, and as of writing this review the label still has copies for sale.
The wall offered up here comes in seventy-two minutes & twenty-nine seconds- and it’s a wholly fixed & unforgiving searing example of the wall-craft. The tracks a blend of rapidly rolling & grinding low-end, constantly descending mesh of cluttering hacks, and a selection of thinner & grey mid-ranged jitters. The ‘wall’ fully encases you in its blend of rich-yet- brutal roast & hacking ‘n’ judder- it feels akin to been dragged behind an aged motorbike inside a rusted steel flecked wooden drum. There is zero let-up, air, or paring back occurring here- yet for a single wall so long it manages to retain both it’s appealing & longevity.
So in conclusion, if your looking for a taster of the type of dense & impenetrable wall craft Necrotik Fissure peddles, and you don’t want to quite yet jump into one of the projects larger multi discs set, then I’d say Centralian Fume is as good as any place to start. All told another worthy release from the project. Roger Batty
