Vomir - Petites Amoureuses Ensevelies [Victimology Records - 2012]“Petites Amoureuses Ensevelies” finds the French master of walled noise offering up just over thirty five minutes of rewarding crisp ‘n’ crusty yet crude ‘n’ dense HNW. The albums title roughly translate to “Small buried love”, but don’t worry there’s nothing soppy, romantic or forlorn about the ‘wall’ on offer here- the track finds Vomir in normal brutal & uncompromising form. The 36.31 track on offer here is built around a mixture of two maybe three interlocking tones- firstly we have a juddering ‘n’ billowing crusty tone, then we have a jittering crisp tone, and this is all backed by a locked down billowing ‘n’ crackling tone. Together these elements form a ‘wall’ that seems to be slowly undulating & shifting up ‘n’ down like a sea slowly drying of tar or lava. Through in reality this ‘wall’ is fixed & unmoving. I must say this undulating feel makes the whole track extremely entrancing, and the track’s near on forty minute run time really does seem to zoom by very quickly. The pro labelled CDR comes in a plastic slip sleeve that features a classy yet grim black & white fold around cover that takes in what looks like an out of focus picture of the lower part of a painted wall that’s been attacked by a even spreading of black mould- all very fitting for a Vomir release. Also with the release is a Vomir sticker & single paper inlay. “Petites Amoureuses Ensevelies” is another very consistent & rewarding release from Vomir- as he sticks to his brutal unmoving form, yet he creates a ‘wall’ that is most entrancing & moorish too.
