Vomir - Untitled(1) [Kafkex Rex - 2011] “Untitled” is a relatively short slice of crusty, pummelling and unflinching walled noise from the French HNW maestro Vomir. On offer here is a 3inch cdr that features a single nineteen minute & thirty eight second track. The cdr comes in a mini black & white sleeve that features on the front cover an unclear monochrome picture of what looks like a women standing next to a mirror, which appears to show a naked man & women- quite what it means & how it relates to the track with-in is unclear, but I guess it gives the release a nice grim ‘n’ sleazy air. The single just shy of twenty minute track finds Vomir building an enjoyably & unrelenting ‘wall’ of noise which mixes together huge sounding spurting ‘n’ rushing liquid noise engulfment’s, dragging crusty billows, and slower paced batterings ‘n’ slipings. The track brings to mind a sonic picture of been stuck in a huge iron ship in the middle of a sea storm- the ship has several huge holes ripped out of it, and the ocean is rushing in through these holes at a rapid & brutal rate, as the ship violently tilts, shifts & slowly sinks. This is another battering & total engulfing slice of crusty walled noise from one of the most known & respected exponents of the HNW form. It’s exactly what you’d expect from Vomir, but that doesn’t stop it from been extremely moorish & brutal rewarding....through I wish he’d have given the release another title as there’s already several Vomir releases with this title, so to save confusion I’ve given this review the title “untitled1” so our review database will except it & not muddled it up with the other untitled vomir releases we’ve reviewed.
