Paddo One - Als Puntje Bij Paaltje Komt [Smell The Stench - 2010]

“Als Puntje Bij Paaltje Komt” is a collection of three twenty minute tracks of often stuck noise or automated extreme industrial soundscaping from slightly deranged and offten sci-fi themed Netherlands based noise project Paddo One.

The first two tracks finds Mr Paddo looping out a stuck and chopping mat of noise tones which sound like a repetitive bit of high tech machinery in over drive, or a stuck automated door on a space ship. I guess you could almost call these first two tracks electro feed and clean sounding takes on HNW- as both tracks lock into a series of tones and  don’t move from them, also both tracks have quite a trance inducing feel to them.

The third and last track still has reputation in it’s structure, but it features a longer series of noise textures which take in beeps, chops and laser like purrs. I guess it feels like your moving along some bizarre and strange futuristic convey belt with robots adding things to you body in rapid monition as you move past their whirring and electro chattering  frames.

This is the second Paddo One release I’ve heard thus far(the first been handjob from 2009 also on the great and prolific smell The Stench label) and once again it shows Mr. Paddo’s distinct, slightly quirky yet original take on the Harsh noise form. So if you fancy something a little different that's noisey and repetitive with a sci-fi edge this certainly is worth picking up.
