Dead Body Collection - Throat [Monolithische Aktion - 2010]

‘Throat’ is a unrelenting 78 minute slice of HNW matter that’s truly nasty, macabrely fierce and often balance throwing attack on the sensers from Serbian based Dead Body Collection(aka Dr Alex who’s also in the excellent Harsh Noise & HNW two piece C. T. D .)

First off the covers artwork must be mentioned as it features this great, but sadistic red, white and black comic illustration of a near naked women tired to a pole having her throat slashed by two black gloved hands of an un-seen killer. The cover sets the tone perfectly for the gruelling, but very nastily addictive Walled noise inside.

The single 78 minute track starts out with a brief muffled scream and descending dramatic music, before it smashers straight into this very loud, thick, hope snuffing and suffocating ‘wall’ of sound. The 'walls' built around a blunt, muffled and at times bass tinted mid-pace judder and a more brooding drilling undertone that simmers below the choking judder. The track for the most part runs the same grim, violent and nasty sonic path through-out it’s hour and eighteen minutes runtime, but Dr Alex keeps the track urgent and brain drillble rewarding through-out. The track easily subs out the world around you with-in it’s first five minutes or so, then for the rest of the tracks running time it sucks you deeper and deeper into the tracks bleak and blood splattered judder ‘n’ brooding drill. At around the fourteen minute mark a more pushing and pressing throb is added to the ‘walls’ already all engulfing texture- micro textural shifts like this appear through-out the track, but their never too pronounced or major structure shift in their intents, they just pull you deeper and deeper into the huge, all engulfing and surrounding wall of sound.

This is certainly one of the best ‘walls’ the Dead Body Collection project has put out thus far; and it’s also one of best, addictive and entrancing  long form ‘walls’ your likely to come across from any harsh noise wall maker. But don’t delay picking this up as it’s only ltd to a criminal 20 copies!
