Vomit Orchestra - Antecrux [Autumn Wind Productions - 2006]What does Victorian porn; heroin, a beetle and a rather sinister looking baby have to do with each other? Well they all appearing in the Puzzling artwork for Antecrux- the first odd full length audio fruit from Vomit Orchestra. We’re presented with an odd and cinematic mix of guitar scapes, electronics and noise touches, old show tune samples, found sound elements and the feeling of slowly slipping into a dread choking insanity. It’s feels like the soundtrack to walking through the crumbing and decaying walls of a sanatorium, the deeper you going into the building the more you get effected by the insanity of long gone patients sprits. You feel their strained and alien thoughts roaming your brain, there jabbering faces and twitching spirit hands trying to close in on you. This has to be played as a whole and in sequence to get the full effect of this dark trip into long lost insanity and dust covered dread, and to get the full power of oddly releasing and emotional guitar mantra & sound textured ending, feeling as if you’ve released all the trapped tortured souls free at last An accomplished, disturbing and emotional charged instrumental concept album, which awaits your own interpretation.
