Olion - Glimmers of Hope [Self release - 2026]Glimmers of Hope is a recent mini-album from the Polish wall noise project Olion. Each of the two tracks featured slides in at dead on the fifteen-minute mark- both are fairly bass-focused affairs, with crackle-bound toppings. Cover artwork for this self-released digital affair, we get a decidedly muddy coloured abstract painting. Drop by here to check it out
The tracks are simply entitled A & B. “A” revolves around a constantly rolling & taut bass judder- this is topped with a jittering skip 'n' crackle. The low end is wonderfully focused, while the crackle is neat, at points difficult to fully follow, which keeps nicely locked into the wall's flow.
Moving onto “B” and we find a slightly more tumbling/ less defined bass roll. It's overfed by a blend of subtle knocking mids, crinkling cracks, and small billows. Again, there is some nice detail to suck you into the walls pull
Glimmers of Hope is another consistent release from Olion, featuring two engaging ‘walls’. Roger Batty
