godNOISEgod - All I Feel Is Oblivion [Self release - 2022]All I Feel Is Oblivion is a dead-on hour-long journey into loosely feasting ‘n’ buffeting walled noise. It’s a release that pulls you into a lazily flitting, yet densely suffocating sound world- then holds you there to be bleakly enchanted, and glumly battered. godNOISEgod are from Kansas City, Missouri. They have been active since the first quarter of 2022- to date releasing around twenty releases. I’ve checked out/ reviewed a few of their splits, and for the most part, enjoyed what I’ve heard. All I Feel Is Oblivion is the first full-length release I’ve heard from the project- and while the ‘wall’ doesn’t feature the most distinctive/ original collection of textures, the starkly numbing quality of the whole thing is engaging enough,
It comes in the form of a digital release, which you can find just here. The single hour-long track is built around a thick seemingly loose weave of the following textures-a tonal constant battering ‘n’ baying tone, a fixed fire-like crack ‘n’ snap, thinner rattling static grain, and distant/ crawling gritty pop. These elements are fed together in a lulling, yet sturdily construction - which nicely sets you in its bleak sonic grips.
All I Feel Is Oblivion certainly lives up to its title. With godNOISEgod nicely putting the listener into a slowly feasting nihilism and hope-numbing state….certainly not for your casual wall noise fan, but if you enjoy lengthy sonic swims in form, which are primarily stark ‘n’ grimly numbing this will appeal.
