Sado Rituals/Placenta Lyposuction - Rivers Of Filth [Death To Dynamics - 2022]Rivers Of Filth is a three-track wall noise collab- bringing together Poland’s Sado Rituals, and Croatian’s Placenta Lyposuction. Each of the tracks slides in around the twenty-minute mark, and each is a grimly searing and sludgy oppressive ride into dense HNW form. The release is a digital affair appearing on Uk’s Death To Dynamics. Cover wise we get a monochrome artwork, of what looks like slightly cracked ice with dark murky water below- which nicely fits in with the release title.
First off we have “River I” here we find a mixture of bedded rather sludge bass hack, which is entangled in snaking static snap ‘n’ jitter. Together the elements create a feeling of crawling and sliding sort of reptilic darkness- which is as oppressive, as it is busy in its feast black dense sonic entrails trawling. “River II” finds a fringed air tunnel like droning fed through with brittle and galloping static clutter. This track feels akin to treading water in a murky and grey dead body of water- that's thick with slimy blacked reeds.
Finally, we have the last track “River III”, and this is the longest of the three tracks here at 21.28. Here we find a slightly rattling ‘n’ droning low end- this is constantly besieged by skating to chopping static tone. The whole thing feels very weighty and with an amassed crawling slug-like quilty to its attack. At points, one gets the most rewarding audio tricky- with the whole thing seeming slowing- but of course in reality it never does.
While none of the textures on display on Rivers Of Filth are particularly fresh or creative. All three ‘walls’ reward with their densely churning and searing darkness. To check out this split for yourself- drop in here. Roger Batty
