Emotionally Extorted is the first release from this new project from American transgender noise maker Cory Adieen(Root Cellar, Monolithic Torment, Submachine Gun, solo work). It’s a single-track release, which rolls in at just over the hour work- and offers up a slice of rewardingly feasting and creatively detailed walled noise craft.

It’s a digital download self-release, with the crudely simple monochrome cover taking in the projects name/ release title and a pair of open hand shackles. The release can be heard/ downloaded here

The single track is entitled “I ‘m a burden to everyone”- and it runs at one hour and eleven seconds mark. The ‘wall’ is created around a selection of rattling ‘n’ roasting mids, which are edged by lightly flightily rumble ‘n’ chugg. In the distant background, one can make out this spaced-out, but consistent selection of knocks and bashes- which at points take on an eerily intriguing quality, as you can never fully define these elements sonic shape with any firm clarity.  The ‘wall’ is a nice blend of rewarding roasting walling & primal/ spaced industrial mystery- which keeps you easily held for the tracks entire one-hour runtime

In finishing Emotionally Extorted is another very worthy example of the walled form from Adieen, with a good blend of textural worth and atmosphere. I’m very much looking forward to hearing more from the Greif Counselor project in the future, and highly recommend you check out this, and Adieen’s other projects.
