Go to the The Golding Institute website  The Golding Institute - Final Relaxation [Ipecac - 2006]

So do you fancy dieing, odd question I know when we don’t know each other, but do you? .The reason I asked is if you do, The Golding Institute maybe able to help you out, with their self help/ hypnotic suggestion cd The Final relaxation. So does it work, you may ask? Bizarre item it is.

In reality it doesn’t seem to work, well I’m writing this, so unless the net has been linked to the other side, it sadly does not. But on the plus side this works as a great dark parody on the self help, cd’s and books that seemed to have flooded the market, you can now give up smoking, lose weight, have confidence, be good at things you were bad at before, basically there’s a whole market shot up around these self help aids, that frankly are very doubtful in their claim's, have you met anyone who they've worked for?.

Final Relaxation is one 30 minute track with some very darkly amusing self unhelp  dialogue, it tells the listener that there hopeless, then goes on to describing visualisations of horrific and often funny mutilations and torture, under which an unpleasant droning tone is added. I won’t give any of the dialogue away, but if you enjoy spoken word albums or novelty albums this is for you.

Clearly it’s not something one would play a lot just in case maybe, it does work, and of course spoken word stuff is a play every few months or when friends are round. As a dark parody it works very well, very much laughter in the dark.
