Glissandro 70 - Glissandro 70 [Constellation - 2005]

Glissandro 70 Debut hints of summer days, spent partying as the sun, slops down out of the sky. You’re high on the people around you and your choice of stimulant. Put simply it’s a great joyous journey, brimming with musical surprises.

Things start off in fine fashion with something, with repetitive guitar work, and spacey electronic undercurrent. The track is almost like a tripped out and guitared up version of a Steve Reich track . Analogue Shantytown mixes jerky and funky guitars, foot tapping disco, and a fine use of vocals as interments ala Animal collective. Vocal chanting starts off  Portugal Rua Rua, along with a sunny guitar and electronic chattering. When the singers voice drops in, it really brings to mind a band from the early 1990’s Sink, with it’s playfully mix of sounds.

All in all ,a great Debut, though a little short at just over half an hour. Of interest those, who enjoy the Anarchic and playful sounds of both Animal Collective and Black dice.
