Dead Body Collection - Paura [Sounding Session - 2012]“Paura” is a C30 tape that collects together two 15 minute slices of decidedly brutal & unrelenting walled noise from this highly prolific Serbian project. The tape is themed around Italian horror comics, and features a PC printed colour cover that takes in a picture of a nose hung skeleton attacking a bound & ganged 1950’s dressed women. The release comes in an edition of 25 copies Apparently this was meant to have been released two or so years back on another small press noise label, but for some reason or another it never did. So both tracks here date from 2010, and are very much old school DBC brutality.
Side one is taken up by a track called “Nei Suoi Occhi Spaventati”( roughly translated to “In His Eyes Scared”). This tracks ‘wall’ is built a deep ‘n’ dirty bass drone billow which is met by a thinner layer of jittering ‘n’ juddering mid range static noise tone sweeps. The track is very much a unforgiving/unmoving slice of brutal walled noise, through towards it's end it does seem to hint that the tones are starting to slow/ break down, through it never full does. Side two is taken up by a track called “Abbracciata Dalla Morte” ( translated to “Embraced By Death”). This tracks ‘wall’ is built around a truly raging & ear battering rapid noise bass drone which is brutally bombarded by semi skipping ‘n’ scraping jittering static grit. This track is once again very unforgiving, and I'd say it’s my favourite of the two tracks here as it’s so violent & urgent in it’s attack
So “Paura” offers up two consistent if fairly text book examples of DBC more unrelenting & head battering walled noise….not some of the projects best work, but a ‘ok’ release & worth picking up if you’re a fan of this projects more fixed & brutal work.
