Ghost - Priestess [Slow Death Records - 2011]

“Priestess” is the fourth release from this progressive French HNW project whose obsessed with African tribal culture, myths, magic and voodoo.  On offer here is a full length CDR that features four untitled tracks that each hit dead on or near the twenty minute point, and each track creates a dense, creative and often detailed/hypnotic maelstrom of HNW.

And as with most of this projects past work this is a mainly consistent and often hypntioc ride into voodoo scented progressive HNW. Track one is a rapid & urgent shot of stuck yet descending roar, pummel and ripping noise drone that’s mixed with quite complex yet repetitive/ jerky  tribal voodoo like juddering. Track two finds deeply purring ‘n’ bass rumbling  noise drone intensity meeting smaller slightly skipping bound static dwellings to hugely hypnotic effect.

Track three finds a continual  car engine like skidding noise texture that buffed ‘n’ bayed by smaller and thinner static noise  textures. And lastly track four mixes rumbling & brooding voodoo drum like sustains with juddering ‘n’ taunt  locked electro dwells.

So all in all  “Priestess”  is another great, rewarding and hypnotic slice of progressive Walled noise from this great French project, with all four tracks manging to be deeply brutal yet atmospheric and creative.
