This really has to be one of the most rewarding and balanced mix of Merzbow sound With metallic/ guitar matter yet; while often he’s often under used and just left to do basic noise texturing and shading- this really feels like a true collaboration  one half Merzbow & one half Porn to make something glorious back snapping and brain melting. The tracks are a mixture of: snarling ‘n’ crude  yet atmospheric riff battering soared and singed by Merzbow’s magic and the odd vocal spat, careening and broken guitar freak-outs and percussive bone jerking’s, to more murky  bass, organ, effects and caustic sound flaying or  noise scalds with sudden jagged percussive hits. Really this is best tasted and felt as one long madding, murky and sleazy ride.

2008 seems to have been the year of Merzbow’s  collaborations with 3 or 4 separate collaborative albums coming to light- each  rewarding and consistent in their own right & this is  yet another very distinctive and rewarding one in it’s own damned right. It’s also the first release from fledgling label Truth Cult and if this superb release is anything to go by they’ll be a label to watch out for in the future. Really this is an unmissble brew of noise, atmosphere  and a good audio beatings.
