Necrotik Fissure - Atrophy [Self release - 2026]Atrophy is nearing an 80-minute ride into thick, dense, and truly hope-killing walled noise from this Hungarian project. This is an example of the world around you blocking noise, when you just want to get away for an hour or so, into constantly churning sonic nihilism. Necrotik Fissure started off in the early 2010’s. To date, it has released two hundred releases, with quite a few of these being multiple-disc/ many wall-based affairs.
This is a digital-only release. For cover art, we have a murky/ almost photocopy-like image of what looks like a speeding by forest/ tree line. The release can be found here.
The single track here is both very unforgiving/ fairly simplistic in its make-up. We have a set/ rapid bass rolling- this is joined by streaming/ reeling static hiss-come-clutter. I say it sounds akin to a stampede of a mass of horses, blended with a amped up thickness of radio static. It truly is an overwhelming sonic experience, and no matter how hard you try to follow the separate pattern threads fully.
So Atrophy, is for when one needs a near-on sonic white-out, with a side order of terminal raging bleakness. Roger Batty
