Elsinore - Slow Murk Façade [Enforced Existence - 2021]Slow Murk Façade is the fourth release from discordant no-wave meets baying sax duo Elsinore. The Pittsburgh duo brings together RJ Myato- guitars, drums, and voice. Luke Farkas-Sax. This eight-track CDR from 2021, appeared on Myato’s label Enforced Existence- the CDR is now out of print, but you can still download the digital album just here
Though it features eight songs- each of these have very short with runtimes between under a minute and nearing two minutes. We go from off-key strum guitar, hazily moaned vocals, and waveringly unfurling tone-shifting sax of “Ghost Liquid Echo Chamber”. There’s the whistling sax bay meets ugly electric guitar churn and note scuttle of “Dirty Song”. Or bounding guitar discord, wailing sax tone decline, and barely their mumbled vocals of the final track "Show Me"
Slow Murk Façade is the second release I’ve heard from Elsinore- following on from 2019’s Self Reflection, and I’d say this release is a continuation from that, though it feels all a little bit more murky and discordant in its sharpe and sound. From those who enjoy unwell and wonky guitar/sax-based fare. Roger Batty
