Sado Rituals - Kali Yuga [Basement Corner Emission - 2022] Here we have a just shy of forty minutes worth of darkly shredding ‘n’ sludge bound walled noise from this Polish project. The release takes its name from the fourth and final age of mankind as told in Hinduism, which is meant to be full of conflict and sin. The cover artwork of this digital release is a dark red, deep purple, black and blood-red coloured picture of a sinister flower-type symbol with a dark metallic triangle inside it. The release appears on Portland Oregon-based Basement Corner Emission- and it can be found here.
The single track here rolls in at the 39.35 mark. It opens with a sample of a man talking about the unfathomable darkness of Kail- this nicely sets the scene. We then drop into a mixture of muffled ‘n’ slight waving low end, thin 'n' juddering static texturing, and several layers of constant skating 'n' jittering mids. The whole thing feels both hazed, yet oppressive- and very nicely conjures up imagery of the end of days- where slowly flowing lava travels through man's cities, as sinister reptilic and leathery creatures circle above -darting down ever so often to rip strips off the few remnants of humankind.
The Sado Ruitals project has been recently on a hiatus for a few months- so it’s great to see it coming back with such strong material as this track, and I do like the theme to the whole thing which is rather neat…and we don’t see enough release themed around the darker side of Hinduism- so kudos for that too.
