RDKPL - Noisksidation [Oxidation Records - 2022]Noisksidation severs up four ten-minute slices of bucking, baying, at times semi rhythmic electro-fired harsh noise from RDKPL- which is one of the pseudonyms/ projects of ultra-prolific Czech noise maker Radek Kopel. The release is a pro- pressed CDR on Illinois based Oxidation Records. The disc is presented in a jewel case, which features monochrome artwork of smoking industrial plants, close-up steel pictures, and inversed pylon shots. Not sure on the numbers on this, but I wouldn’t have thought it be huge- to find out more drop by here.
Each of the four tracks have runtimes of near the ten-minute mark, and each utilisers similar toned noise textures and tones- with sequential titles. So we kick off with “220130_01” here we find a rapidly shredding ‘n’ slicing blend of mid-range spins ‘n’ purrs, juddering rips, and high pitch bays ‘n’ squeals. By track three “20130_03” we find more ragged rips ‘n’ spins been added in the mix, as well as sliding whistles and sour blips. With the album playing out with “220130_04”- this opens with a mesh of cluttering chop ‘n’ hiss, with grainy squelches and bays meeting shredding judder pulls.
Noisksidation certainly is a headlong ride into manic and searing electro fired harsh noise- which has zero let-ups, or any easing off. I enjoyed well enough what was on offer here, and would revisit if I had the need for this type of thing. Though it might have been nice if there had been a touch more variation in the textures used from track to track, as times they do start to rather blend into each other- but maybe that’s part of the point of the release.
