Urge To Kill - Vindran Pluges Suaus [Required Rate Of Return Records - 2018]

Vindran Pluges Suaus offers up two no-nonsense & ear roasting examples of walled noise from this Spanish project. Each track comes in at the twenty-minute mark, and each is as simplistic-yet- searing as each other.

This release appeared in May of last year on French noise label Required Rate Of Return Records-coming as either a CDR or digital release. The CDR release presented the disc is a slimline DVD case- which took in a grey picture of figures huddled around a cross in the middle of a field at nighttime- this is finished off with blood red texts. The physical version of this release has now gone out of print, but of course, you can still download the tracks from the labels band camp.

Opening up the release we have “Plou Sang”- this kicks in straight away with a very full & seared 'wall' that sees the bringing together of a muffled, slightly churning rush & a constantly descending chopping/ feasting texture. Together these textures are propelled along at a fairly rapid, blunt & suffocating manner- with at moments the two textures blurring into together. This is most certainly walled-noise at it’s most crude, simplistic & unforgiving- it doesn’t really stimulate one's mind, but if you're after just a simple head roasting it’s effective enough.

Next up we have “Aves De Paso”, and this ‘wall’ is even more intense & jarring when it jumps straight into the noise wall- we get a constant stream of searing & white hot rushing, this is under set by this distant aquatic bubble ‘n’  rumble. Together these textures bring to mind the sound of been trapped in a room as it slowly fills with bone-chilling water- maybe like your inside a portakabin that’s been tipped into the sea, and your slow sinking as the water violent rusher in through the door seals, then the windows.  This 'wall' was a bit more appealing in its make-up, as the texture have a bit of subtle shift & hints at building tension atmospheric depth about them. Once again the ‘wall’ is relatively simplistic, though I can certainly see myself revisiting it- due to the interesting imagery it conjured up in my mind. In the last five minute things turn a bit more metallic spiralling & rotating in its feel- giving one the feeling of overload & breaking building ventilation system.

I believe Vindran Pluges Suaus is the second release I’ve heard from Urge to Kill, and while it won't winning any prizes for it’s sophisticated & clever use of noise texturing- as fierce & head roasting walled noise, that’s grantee to nicely enchasing you in dense intensity, this isn’t half bad.
