Messer Chups - Crazy Price [Ipecac - 2005]

Imagine if you can a Halloween party peopled by rather tacky looking Dracula’s and werewolves. On the stage a surf/ jazz band are playing along with Perrey And Kingsley. Fronted by a sort of grimly erotic female dancer who sings and moans every now and then, right can you picture it? good, because that’s what Messer ChupsCrazy Price is like and it’s a hell of a lot of fun.

The band seems to hail from Russia and Germany, and appear to come from another time (or another planet!).  It really is like stepping into a very odd audio movie. Sort of black and white 50’s horror movie, which features a highly strung vampire(who happens to be Russian!) who keeps  razing his eyebrow and his mysterious female accomplices who says nothing, just smiles wickedly. Right that’s the first track Fantomasofobia for you.
In 3 minutes to massacre we take a ride into a Hollywood desert blowing with fake tumble weeds. There’s a rather cheap looking flying saucer hovering above us and some  suited men in a blacked out Hurst and from the  open back door window you can hear a female’s voice.Anton La Vey 66.6 fm (what a great title!) takes us to a sixties dance hall where the synthetically flared denizens are getting down there moves. A sinister looking figure is making it’s way through the crowd, He has a waxed goatee beard and is wearing a black polo neck. By the way, while all this is going on, on stage a hunched figure keeps tolling a big bell!. Right I think I stop there, and leave you to discover your own audio movies

And if all that wasn’t enough you get five “funny as hell” bizarre-o videos that you can watch on your computer!. But remember those who don’t like too much cheese on their dinosaur burger need not apply.
