Sloth - Untitled [Inner Demons - 2017]This Untitled 3inch CDR severs up a twenty minute slab of constricting ‘n’ crude HNW from Tampa, Florida based Sloth. The release appeared last year on Florida's Inner Demons label, it comes in a edition of 42 copies, and as far as I can see it’s still available The release sleeve is on green art card, and this features the projects logo against a thick organic like grain. The release also features a printed tracing paper inlay- this lists web links, as well as an appeal to swap Sloth releases for the releases of the French king of HNW Vomir.
The single track offered up here comes in at just over the twenty minute mark. The ‘wall’ is an extremely meaty, blunt, and grinding example of the genre- it brings together an ultra dense & sludgy low-end, with a selection of (often barely heard) jittering & rattling sub-tones. It feels like the whole thing is constantly boring into your brain like huge & aged drill-bit, with hair, flesh, and bone flying about. In its second half there is seemingly more of stretched & caught feel to the low-end, but this doesn't lessen the crushing impact, but instead really intensifies the wall. Sure the whole thing is most simple in both its attack & textural make up, but what it lacks in subtlety & creatively, it makes up for in pure vice like bothersome constriction.
So if your on the look-out for crude ‘n’ crushing wall-matter with a very dense bass feel, I reckon you’ll be rather pleased by what’s on offer here. For fans of Vomir, Dead Body Collection, ect Roger Batty
