Molestia Auricularum - John 3:19 [Toxic Industries/Irritant Series - 2011]

“John 3:19” is a CDR that presents the listener with three untitled 14 minute plus slices of brutal & searing walled noise. This is this Italian based projects first full length release after some compilation appearances & download only releases over the last year or so.

All three tracks here are unrelenting, searing yet often quite memorable, and each is  sequenced into the next.. so when the ‘wall’ finally shifts to the next one you get a nice sudden jarring feeling.

Track one hits  dead on the 15.14 mark, and it’s built around a dense mass of juddering ‘n’ churning walled noise matter that’s seemingly continuously descending down & down in a searing almost hypnotic  & roasted industrial singed manner. It feels like ones either inside a vast vibrating ‘n' juddering machine, or stuck between four or five descending, failing 'n' jerking moving staircases.

Track number two  slides in just under the 14 minute mark, and the ‘wall’ is built around a constantly swirling mass of rushing/ semi juddering noise that’s underfed by a distant billowing type tonality. To me the track brought to mind a vast endlessly sucking ‘n’ descend sea bound whirl pool, or some churning & chopping watermill hard at work. The ‘wall’ has quite a fresh yet intense feeling about it, and if you close your eyes you can almost taste the ozone, & feel water splashing against your face.

Lastly track three seems to pull the pace back  just a little bit, as it mixers together rolling roasts that are undercut juddering pull in stokes- this seem to give one the feeling that the track might constrict & pull back into ANW, yet it never fully does. This last track is the longest of the three here at just under the 18 minute mark.

So all in all a collection of three dense, seared yet memorable walled noise tracks. Molestia Auricularum is certainty a worthy addition to the European walled noise scene, and I look forward to seeing what they do next.
