Over the last year or two this Santiago based noise project has steadily released five or so releases that have touched-down-in and mixed together elements of Harsh noise, HNW, junk noise, and general noise bound mayhem. “No Point” finds the project offering up a selection of subtle active, sometimes rhythmic licked and trance inducing slices of HNW.

On offer here are three tracks in all- track one hits just over the nine minute mark, track two nears the eleven & a half minute mark, and track three just over the twenty six  half minute mark. Each track here finds the project building a thick ‘n’ dense wall of  layered noise textures that subtle shift & rejoin each other to form hypotonic and at times semi-rhythmic sound patterns. The layers of noise move from compressed and hammering almost rhythmic loops, through billowing and rumbling judders, onto grating & roaring textural shifts, through to throbbing synth drone like reels and beyond. I’ve always found this project work a little messy and high wired in the past, but “No Point” feels very brutally focused, cleverly controlled and almost intensely sleek in subtle shifting ‘n’ churning sheets of noise texture.

I’ve listened to and enjoy most the work A.R.GH has put out in the past, but on the whole I’ve found the projects releases to always have  a few lesser and unispided moments. To me “No Point” is the project most rewarding and wholly consistent release to date, and it’s a damn fine slice of brutally sleek, subtle shifting and highly memorable HNW too- lets hope there’s more stuff like this to come!.
