Sturmgeschütz - Moving Target! [Toxic Industries/Irritant Series - 2010]“Moving Target!” finds this Serbian based walled noise project offering up a single hour long slice of intense, taut and densely unforgiving HNW. As with everting put out by this project there’s a WW2 theme running though the ‘walls’ sound & artwork. The single untitled ‘wall’ on offer here comes in at 60.06 mark, and it’s based around a constantly hacking ‘n’ repeating mid-paced bass judder- that ever so often has crunching’ n’ crisp tonalities coming out of it’s unrelenting and huge sounding judder bound wall of noise The ‘wall’ remains brutally and chillingly locked throughout it’s just over hour runtime, yet it never becomes tired or attention slipping in it’s flow. To me the ‘wall’ rather brings to mind a constantly barrage of repetitive & slightly muffled artillery fire over a ice cold rain licked & mud locked battle field in the middle of winter. The tracks deeply bleak and quite obsessive in it’s feel, yet it’s also rather hypnotic & entrancing too. “Moving Target!” offers up another brutal yet worthy slice of long form & unmoving walled noise from this great war obsessed Serbian HNW project. So if you dig your walls bass bound, suffocating, unflinching & long this is really a must have item!. Roger Batty
