Placenta Lyposuction & Hour Of the Wolf - Split [Twilight Luggage - 2009]

This HNW Split offers up two twenty five minutes tracks of unforgiving, ear-drum melting noise & sadistic static jitter attacks. With a track a piece from scene new comer Croatia Placenta Lyposuction & Norway’s Hour Of the Wolf  which is Andreas Brandal(Flesh Coffin, Drevne Bolesti, solo work, ect) more static wall like noise project.

Taking up the first half of the disc we have Placenta Lyposuction  track ‘|||||||||||||||’ which finds this one man project boiling up a rather rewarding & moorish slice of tight static jittering & juddering HNW. The track is made up tow tones: a higher & faster jitter & a more crunching & crisp static tone; these two nicely run together over the tracks twenty five minute sonic unfold. There are slight shifts or mirco-moves in both tones along the way, but it pretty much stays fairly constant in it’s intent & attack; yet there’s that very moorish feel to the tones which keeps you hanging in there right till the end. All told a very enjoyable ‘wall’ from this scene newcomer & I look forward hearing more stuff from him in the future.

The last half of the CDR is taken up by of course the Hour Of the Wolf track which is entitled ‘//////////////’. The track kicks in with a nice crisp & brutal flame thrower like tone  which nicely jitters & jerks at it’s edges, it feels like someone keeps giving more burst of flame thrower gun, then letting the flames engulf & roar  it’s flaying &  slow-mo moving victim, before once more letting them have another burst of old painful ‘n’ hot. As the track goes on it become more roaring & furnace like in it’s intent, yet it still holds onto to that deep jitter edge with the pace & tension of the track seeming to speed up as it goes along. Like the first track this is a fairly constant & thick wall of sound with slight shifts & movements in the plates of the noise matter. Another great slice of punishing HNW making from Hour Of the Wolf – I think with out doubt this is my favourite HNW projects at the moment, as  Brandal always builds appealing & rewarding ‘walls’ that stick to the genres ‘rules’-but also try & boil up a slightly different edge to the proceedings too.

A very rewarding two  way split between these two acts; with both parties offering up a very rewarding, moorish & enjoyable ‘wall’ each. Really a must buy sitution if you dig HNW in any small way. For more info & to buy direct drop in here
