Hoor Paar Kraat - A Whisper In The Sow's Ear [Small doses - 2008]This 3 inch cd finds surreal sound smiths Hoor Paar Kraat in a more horror filled droney, ritual, hypnotic and mainly field recording stripped mind set. With the 3 pieces on offer here concentrating on sinister manipulated gong, feed back and singing bowl tones. As usually with anything connected to the Hoor Paar Kraat name we get classy, arty and puzzling artwork with a mini fold out painting by Hoor Paar Kraat main man Antony Mangicapra which is inside arty tracing paper stock. This unlike most of Hoor Paar Kraat is not released on the Goat eater records, but instead this is on Small doses meaning the packaging is less hand constructed and a larger edition then usually of 142. The three tracks here each concentrate on chilling and ritual based tone manipulation and dwell with only the last track making things a little denser, active and field recording based- mixed in with the manipulated drones is a harmonica like tone, shifting & moving tones, and other subtle noise matter. An more striped down and sinister take on Hoor Paar Kraat sound. That's in a larger edition than usually so more can taste the projects unique and un-nevering sound soup.    Roger Batty
