XV Parówek - Waiting for the match to end [Somnolent Shelter Records - 2008]XV Parówek is a polish sound, noise and experimental artists who’s been creating work since 1994, so far amassing over 40 releasers. And the most impressive thing about Waiting for the match to end is that you can't tie into just one genre there are elements of; noise, burnt out electroinca, broken and smashed avant rock elements and field recordings. I think a quote from his my space sums up his work nicely ‘too experimental for harsh noise purists. too noisy for "serious" experimentists’ and that’s what makes this so intresting edgy and rewarding as a noise record as you don’t know quite what to expect next. Noisy smashing yet hypnotic guitar and electro tone constructions will be followed by a track of quiet soothing and creative seemingly untouched field recording of bell tolls, bird chatter, light traffic noise and a Sunday morning like vibe. Before jumping back into boiling and screaming synth scapes with chattering and shorting feedback chops and grinds or manic overloaded Morse code tones growled over by melted once harmonic guitar pitchers. Parówek certainly weaves some very interesting and creative sonic ideas through out his work- not one for those who just want an unforgiving noise slam, but if you’re looking for something a little more creative yet still at times very caustic this will certainly be up your street.
