Marmur - Elektroniczne Systemy [Rope Worm - 2025]Elektroniczne Systemy is the debut EP from Polish two-piece Marmur, which brings together Artur Rumiński (Furia, Thaw, Arrm, and many others) and Macio Moretti (LXMP, rumoured to be Mitch & Mitch, and many others). The sound over the three tracks is lo-fi electronica, with subtle guitar elements and a rather moody, at times abstract feel. The CD comes presented in a rather murky/ bulky collage-type sleeve with images of the tops of trees & two people sitting in a skate park. The cover features areas of spot varnish, and there’s a black paper slip.
We open with “Ludzkość” which moves from rapid-if-roughshod cut-ups of metal plate striking, slipping cattery tone, and various knocks/ bangs. In time, an oddly on/off chiming guitar tone comes into play, along with a churning/ chugging electro tone, and beading slip/slide. Initially, the whole feels like it’s getting busier & busier, but the guitar tones lead a more moody feel to proceedings. Before, in the last quarter or so, a hazy drone.
Next is “Drenaż” which is the longest track here at just over twelve minutes. It opens with spaced-out/ abstract electronic bass purrs, mid-range jittering, and rounding buzz. In time, a glowing ambient simmer comes into play, but at the same time, the abstract electro textures become more rapid/ busy, and at times, they seemingly affect the ambient simmer's flow. Things seem to calm slightly, before a rather intense/ amassed resolve.
Finally, we have “Objazd” which is the most manic of all of the tracks, with its blend of purring, knocking, jitter electro tones, blended with bell strikes, raising/ sweeping synth glides.
If you enjoy your electronica abstract & unpredictable, then I feel you’ll enjoy what Elektroniczne Systemy has to offer. It’ll be interesting to hear how Marmur develop as a project. Roger Batty
