Olion - Tulpa [Self release - 2025]Tulpa is a nearly sixteen minutes of rushing meets galloping walled noise, which is a consistent, yet rewardingly comforting example of wall-craft. Olion is all the work of Poland’s Olek Browiński. The project has been active since early 2021, having around thirty releases to its name. Taking in both albums, eps, and splits.
The cover artwork is of a murky looking oil painting of a cat-like figure in greys, dark greens, and brows. The release can be found here
The single 15.57 minute track is built around a rolling bass tone and skittering hiss, with some slight knocking 'n' rattling subtones. The whole thing rushes along in a decidedly set if roughshod manner. I could easily have listened to another forty-five minutes of this- as the textures are simple, but effective in their entrancement.
So Tulpa is another consistent Olion release, which will appeal to those who jointly liked to be soothed-yet- steadily battered by walled noise. Roger Batty
