Franco Micalizzi - Adolescenza Perversa OST [Fin de Siécle media - 2007]This is the first time ever release for this Franco Micalizzi soundtrack from an obscure Italian erotic drama from 1974. Not surprisingly it nods towards Morricone’s and other film composers work of the time, but offers up its own collection of memorable and atmospheric musically themes. Bizarrely one of the main themes very much brings to mind Ennio Morricone Soundtrack for Dario Argento's The Stendhal Syndrome, with it’s use of eerier female vocals, pushing/swirling piano, string work and sinister acoustic guitar haze, giving a very similar sinister roll as Morrcione main theme and sharing a simlar Melodic presences. The rest of the Musically themes are rewarding in their own right and use a mix of rich string work, piano and guitars. It’s kept very elegant for the most part never really going too quirky or odd, with little or no synth work to speak of, though it does dip into some nice droning and dissonant string clouds on a few tracks. Really it’s just a good workable soundtrack in the traditional sense, that has just enough variation to keep you interested through out . It goes from dramatic and atmospheric, to more playful and upbeat, to contemplative and sinister, even touching down in a very Parisian themed melody at one point with accordion and piano/harpsichord interplay. Yet another worthwhile and enjoyable soundtrack from The Fin de Siécle media label, coming like the others they’ve released in a four panel Digi-pak with Information about the Film and Franco Micalizzi himself.
