სუნთქვის გარეშე( Without The Smell ) is a two-track release from Georgia’s Owners Of Knowledge- who create walled noise, be it dense, textured,or mixing the two states. Both tracks featured come in dead on the twenty-five-minute mark – one is dense & textual detail-lined, while the other is crude/rough-shod textured roll- so a decent contrast.

The artwork for this release is monochrome- taking in a picture of creased sheet of paper/ similar. The release can be downloaded here.

We open with “scraped slips”. Here we find a thick crust of a constantly rolling bass knock,  noise drone, and low-grade chugg.  Through this we get these thinner layer textureal drifts- be it an uneven rail-like scrape,  mid-range like drifting bays, industrial-like knocks, fog horn etc. There is a thick yet rewarding mystery to the track,

The second track is “Candidates” This is a thinner wall- focusing on a weave of constant rolling crackle, Hiss, and almost watery flow. From time to time there’s a very subtle hint of bobbing middle-ranged drone. This wall had a most pleasing/ soothing quilty about it.

So, Without The Smell is another consistent/varied release from Owners Of Knowledge- I’ve been most impressed by other recent releases by this project, so it’s great to see this album is following that trend,
