His Haunted Humming is a new wall noise project from the mind behind Poland’s Sado Rituals. And Scriptures is its fourth release- offering up two around twenty-minute tracks, which are created by utilizing just one chain of pedals.

The release is a self-released digital download- cover artwork-wise we have two Illuminated manuscripts, which the release is themed about. The release can be found  here 

The first track is entitled “Scripture 1”. This a nicely haphazard ‘n’ bucking ‘wall’ which is built around a thick rumbling rip ‘n’ judder- this is nestled in small hacking, feasting, and tearing tones. Oddly for walled noise, there is almost a buoyant and bright feel to the ‘walls’ feed- though this is underfed by a feeling clamouring roll- like a combine harvester running through piles of ancient paperwork & books laid out on a freshly cut field( odd imagery I know, but that’s what I’m getting!). And as it moves towards its conclusion I’m noticing this almost harmonic purr appearing ever so often in the ‘wall’ mass.

“Scripture 2” finds a mid-ranged motor-like purr-been surrounded by small grit-bound hack, jitter, and clutter. Again there is an almost bright feel to the whole thing, as well as a feeling of grinding compression about the wall.  And this time around I feel like I’m watching an industrial grain separator do its work under a clear corrugated plastic roof.

 As a release Scriptures features two rewarding walls, and I do think that Illuminated manuscripts/ ancient historic paintings/ paperwork is rather a unique theme. So I’ll certainly be looking into playing the project's other three releases as soon as I can!.
