Necrotik Fissure - Â I Am Finally Become That Extraordinary Nothingnes [Self release - 2023]Here we have a seventy-three-minute slab of truly punishing & gruellingly unrelenting walled noise from the Hungarian project Necrotik Fissure. It appears as a digital download on the project's own Bandcamp. Cover artwork wise we have what looks like a photocopy-grade picture of the head of a hoody/ gowned figure. You can’t make out a face or anything inside the hood- which adds a nice feeling of subtle creepy unease to the whole thing. Necrotik Fissure started life in the year 2012. To date it has released nearly one hundred and seventy-five releases to its name- with quite a few of these being multiple disc/ many wall-based affairs. Since it started, I’ve dipped in & out of its output, and I think the last time I sampled anything was early on this year with the release of Teapot Ess. The single self-titled comes in at the one-hour, thirteen-minute, and thirty-two-second mark. It kicks straight in with the dense intensity- not letting up until seventy-plus minutes later. The ‘wall’ is constructed around rapid rolling low end- this is muffled, ill-formed, and decidedly ramshackle in its intent. Around this we have a selection of mid-range rattling rushers- these are rather fluster, blow-out and careering in their flow. The whole ‘wall’ is akin to just managing to hold on as you’re pulled along behind an antiquated speed boat. But instead of it being on water, it’s a bucking & rushing sea of pure grey ‘n’ ripping-grained white static.
If you're looking for no-nonsense, flamingly intense, and simplistically textured walled noise I Am Finally Become That Extraordinary Nothingness most certainly fits the bill. The release can be heard/ downloaded here Roger Batty
