Kigurumi Fetish - Our Love Is A Warm Goodbye [HNW Netlabel - 2023]

Our Love Is A Warm Goodbye is a two-track wall-noise release from Japan’s Kigurumi Fetish. One track slides in at just shy of the nineteen-minute mark, and the other nearing nine & a half-minute mark. Each track. Both tracks are examples of brain-battering wall matter- with a fetishised kinky theme/ vibe running through the release.

This is a digital download-only release on London’s HNW Netlabel. Cover artwork we have a picture of a naked man in a very tight-fitting purple/ pink body suit. The release can be found here.  Going from the projects bandcamp  Kigurumi Fetish has only been active for a month or so- with three or so releases to its name to date.

The first track is entitled “You Look So Beautiful This Way”, and this takes up the lion's share of the release at 18.45 mark. The ‘wall’ is a dense, battering and rapid blend of low-end rip-bound baying, cluttering crunch, and very agitated/ abrasive rattling. The track brought to mind images of fleshy ‘n’ pink masses tumbling down & down a jagged, ragged, and roughshod hillside. These masses are not fully ripped or torn, but instead warped & bent slightly out of shape- from their original plump roundness. Bizarre imagery I know- but that’s what I’m getting.

Next, we have the lengthy and decidedly perversely entitled “I would like to drink more water, and I would like to wash my hands with your semen-stained shirt”. This track slides in at the 9.17 mark, and is a blend of rapidly rolling ‘n’ churning mid to lower-ranged noise- which is edged by a warbling higher pitched tone. This feels very akin to being stuck inside an industrial washing machine- as its speed is slow but surely moving up.

When it comes to creating thicker, more intense wall-craft one often finds there isn’t as much creative put into creating as more detailed & pared-back textured wall matter. But that is certainly not the case with this release- as both ‘walls’ manage to sound fairly distinctive, and original enough- so, as a result, I can certainly advise checking Our Love Is A Warm Goodbye- if you enjoy more battering & unforgiving walling with a more creative edge. And I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for new material from Kigurumi Fetish.
