IxSxDxSxTxP/Vindex - Split [Self release - 2022]Here’s Harsh Noise Wall Split that brings together two brutalizing ‘n’ intensely baying examples of the genre. Featured are Frances IxSxDxSxTxP, and New Jersey's Vindex- with each project presenting an around half-an-hour wall. The release comes as a self-released digital download from IxSxDxSxTxP. The cover is a stark monochrome affair- featuring a dense difficult-to-define collage and the two projects' names. The split can be found here.
IxSxDxSxTxP is one of the newer projects to the walled noise scene. It seemingly started in April of this year, with coming up for thirty digital releases to its name- taking in more splits, as well as stand-alone releases too. Their track is "Untitled", and it brings together a simplistic but head-plough mixture of burring bass, rattling mid-ranged noise, and small rapidly skipping static grain. The whole ‘wall’ has a highly unrelenting 'n' battering intent- sure it’s not the most nuanced, original sounding, or detailed of walls- but if you're looking just plain sonic battering- this fulfils that need.
Next, we have the Vindex track- this project dates back to 2020, and has seemingly released around ten or so digital releases. Their track is entitled “Dwell On The Past With No Hope For The Future” – and here we find an even more simplistic, but very thick blend of constantly rolling and slightly claggy rapid bass flow, chop rattle, and static subtone rattle. This track really is extremely full and suffocating in its attack- and while there is nothing remotely adventurous or daring about either the textures or the ‘wall’ itself, if you after been well and truly buried in nasty and thick wall matter- this will do just that.
So in finishing what we have here is an hour's worth of super dense and unstoppable HNW, which you just have to fall in and be engulfed by. For those accustomed to the form, and ready for the right old sonic battering only! Roger Batty
