RYKE - Resuscitation [Blossoming Noise - 2006]Resuscitation is a stop start, gut gargling, noise grating 45 minute journey into sound and disorientation. This celebrates and brings together a collaboration that started in 1998 between R.H.Y. Yau (Auscultare & 23Five Inc.) and Kazumoto Endo (Killer Bug) and was finished in 2006. Really this wonders all over the place from all manor of mouth noise: vocal burp and throat vomiting to monster growls. To slowed atmospheric structures, and sheets of churning and burning rhythmic noise, to cluttering almost sadistic cartoonism sound elements. Noting really hanging around for too long, nor really one track been discernable from another, so this really works best as one long edge of the seat ride. Similarities I guess can be made with sudden infant, but this seems less focused and together in its intent or maybe some of Andy Ortmann’s stuff but with out such alarming undertones and disturbed vibe. Satisfying enough if you enjoy audio pile-up’s, but it just seems to be missing the edge somehow, really not feeling crazy enough. To buy direct and hear samples drop in here but hurry these are only ltd to 325 pressing. Roger Batty
