Go to the Two Assistant Deputy Ministers website  Two Assistant Deputy Ministers - Satisfy The Dog [Harsh Noise - 2006]

Satisfy the dog seems to be the first depraved audio noise  fruit  of Two Assistant Deputy Ministers , All the work of it the work of  Mr  Jason Soddy. It’s a jerking and crashing trip into crushed audio partials, which are bonded into looped and rhythmic clusters, all with a rather morbid smile to the whole proceedings.

The whole sordid affair opens up with the wonderfully tilted: I saw Mommy getting Butt- raped by Santa dog, the title which is undoubted a tip of the hat to The Residents seasonal classic Santa dog. Soddy bombards us with looped mounds of rather appealing static, just a few seconds of rthymic and electronic riffing repeated over and over. I have to say it really works well, even at it’s 15 minute running time, it just seems to pull you into deeper and deeper into the patterns of sound.

Next Up is Beat Me and brag, which starts up with another looped pulse, then gets buried in twisting and buckling sound. Low thundering judders like collapsing builds erupt; sew in with patches of high pitch sound, and electro stretches. The track has more movement and variation of sound and pitch than the first, also it randomly pauses  just to keep you more off balance. The rest of the album follows in a similar fashion each track having its own merits, and a fine example of great noise art. Special mention should be given to an evening with Ravi Shanker, which melds a group of friends verbal abusing someone, then you thrown back by screaming storms of noise, and most surprising a sample of David Tibet’s of Current 93 voice appears.

To buy direct and hear sound samples go to Here and get ready to enter Two Assistant Deputy Ministers depraved and often funny take on noise. It should be noted that this is a CDR release, but really you wouldn’t know unless you were told- as it has really professional look to the packaging and disk labelling.
